The FuelTank Uno is a single battery charger device that uses an internal battery and charger circuit to charge many common and some uncommon handheld devices. Callpod has a few of these devices and the FuelTank Uno is the most recent and smallest of the FuelTank series with the Duo being twice the size and double the capacity.
The FuelTank Uno will charge devices using the internal battery and circuit that monitors the charge and regulates the amount of power to send. The FuelTank Uno has more than four times the charge of an average cell phone according to the company and I found that you can easily charge a fully dead cell phone at least that many times.
I have spent the last couple of weeks draining then charging my older TracPhone Motorola cell phone that I did not have an adapter but I solved that using simple tape. The FuelTank Uno comes with 2 adapters and a coupon for a third along with the FuelTank itself, a power adapter and a carrying pouch.
The FuelTank Uno is a simple device with a meter on one face a USB mini connection on one side and a special connection on the other side for the adapters. Callpod has made numerous adapters with their own connection on one end and the connector for particular handheld devices like the Sony PSP, Nintendo DSi Lite and many more on the other.
I have received a few adapters as well as used the coupon to receive an adapter for free through their website which worked quite well. The coupon is simply a code to put in when you order an adapter which will pay for the $10 adapter and shipping charges for a free adapter when you purchase the FuelTank Uno.
Callpod has a listing of devices that they made adapters for and you can check their website to see if your device has an adapter for it, they probably do. Even for odd and older devices I did find one for my wife's cell phone that is a cheaper model LG phone used extensively by Tracfone. I simply looked up model numbers of my Tracfone cell phone on the LG website and found other more common models of cell phones by the same manufacturer that uses the same power charger.
Once I had a list of cell phones that use the same power charger it was easy to match it with an adapter for more common LG products that Callpod has adapters for and it worked just fine on the my model of cell phone. Other products I have like the PSP and a couple of Bluetooth devices worked well and I had no problems jury rigging my really old cell phone charger to an adapter.
I cut my old charger cord and taped the leads from the connector end to the regular adapter for another cell phone and I will create a socket connector later after I get to Radio Shack and buy some parts. Charging for my cell phone worked just fine and very quickly, a lot faster than I thought it would and it worked well time after time.
I also had no problem charging my dead PSP and still had enough power for other devices from a single charge on the FuelTank Uno so it does charge more than a single device on a charge. The FuelTank Uno does pack enough power to charge more than one cell phone or other device on a single charge and still have enough for more.
This is the perfect take along charge device for those long weekends or business events so you can charge the FuelTank Uno when you get the chance and use the charge for other devices when you need it. The FuelTank Uno holds more than enough of a charge to top off several devices before needing a recharge itself so this is the perfect take along battery for charging other devices.
The FuelTank Uno has the two connections on it as well as a blue LED on the adapter side to let you know when any adapter is plugged in. There is also a battery symbol button on the mini-USB end that shows the charge of the FuelTank Uno itself in a seven LED graph using different colored LED's.
The FuelTank Uno works very well and does exactly what it is supposed to, a take along battery pack that charges other devices easily and simply. The FuelTank Uno comes with a couple of adapters for common devices but others are readily available for hundreds of different handheld devices including the most common and current cell phones.
The FuelTank Uno is available from Callpod and at Best Buy for about $50 with each adapter costing about $10 for a very useful portable power source for all kinds of handheld devices. This is such a great charger for cell phones and so much more that I highly recommend this for anyone needing power on the go for their devices.
