While a photo frame may not be everyone’s idea of a great way to show off your digital photos or share your videos it is a unique and different way to look at them. A really unique feature that I have really enjoyed is the use of Wi-Fi to upload the photos and videos with the internet email system to load them to the frame that anyone can use.

Simply plug in the frame to a regular outlet and setup the Wi-Fi connection using the instructions and email the pictures and videos as file attachments and they automatically upload to the photo frame in minutes. It really is easy to upload photos and videos using a regular email program and the email address the frame sets up when you first turn it on.

You can use the top USB or secure digital, multi-media card and media stick combined connections to load digital photos and videos to your frame as well as email them to the frame itself. Using your Wi-Fi connection is easy and the frame connects using a regular network search just like a regular computer for fast and easy media sharing.

To set up the Wi-Fi connection simply turn the frame on and if this is the first time it should automatically go to setup a network connection. You can just go to the settings using the remote or the side buttons that also can be used to flip through photos and other menu functions to get to the settings page.

On the settings page of the photo frame menu system you also have a Wi-Fi Networking selection as well as a Time and Clock setting, Slideshow Speed and Slideshow effect and brightness selection. The Slideshow settings are pretty much self explanatory as well as the brightness with the slideshow settings using 12 different ways for each picture to go from one to the next as well as a random setting and none.

The ImpactV frame also has built in speakers for use with videos so you can send greetings and quick messages over the internet using email. What a great way to send a quick message or greeting during holidays or special events to ones who are a long distance from you.

The videos will show up on the photo frame with the usual play button in the middle a bit grayed out and not play the video unless you press enter on the remote or frame button. You can use videos up to 3 minutes in length and upload to the frame just like photos using your email.

The Wi-Fi connection can be used at any time to setup a connection with a wireless router using your SSID to connect to a secure network. The setup is an automatic one just like you would connect a laptop to a network and works very easily, just click on your network in the list and input the SSID code to connect to the network.

Once you have established your connection the frame will go into a setup mode and have you input some registration information on a website for the email setup. You simply go to the website on your computer that the frame lists and setup an account for downloading pictures to your frame. The website at setframe.com will have you set up a username and password to create the account and after that you simply send an email with username@seeframe.com as the to address.

This service is a part of the cost for the frame and there are no subscription fees or additional costs to use the email service with your frame. You will only have the initial purchase cost of the frame for delivery your photos and videos to the frame so this is a great purchase and with no recurring costs.

On the email to your frame you do not have to put anything in the subject box or in the body of the email, simply open a new email and enter your “username”@seeframe.com and attach photos. Once you have sent your images or video as simple attachments you will receive a response email saying your pictures have been received and will upload to your photo frame.

The frame will receive the emailed pictures in a few minutes, it took about three or four minutes but this will depend on the amount and size of pictures. You will be limited to picture size and you should maximize the pictures for the frame so you do not waste memory size if loading directly to the frame from a computer or memory card.
