Brunton Lightweight Tripod

The Brunton Lightweight Aluminum Tripod is a fantastic tripod for the amateur photographer in the studio and in the field with plenty of reliable features. I have owned a previous Brunton tripod and have been extremely satisfied with its performance and quality, especially for my work.

Taking product shots works very well with the Brunton tripod but it also works very well both for studio work like portraits and field work like wildlife and scenic photography. I like this tripod so well that the Brunton Lightweight Aluminum Tripod earns my Blue Ribbon for Excellence.

The Brunton Lightweight Aluminum Tripod adjusts from 22 inches to 54 inches in height and weighs 92.8 ounces or 5.8 pounds. The Brunton tripod comes with the tripod itself, a quick release plate, a couple of Allen wrenches and a carry case. The tripod easily slips into the carry case for easy portability as well as protection but can easily be carried in a back pack or other bag.

The tripod has a removable quick release plate that attaches to your camera using the common 3/8 inch screw thread mounting and quickly attaches and comes off the 3-axis pan head. The tripod has nice foam rubber leg warmers on two of the legs for comfortable moving and adjusting of your tripod.

The quick release plate comes off the pan head assembly by a simple lever that locks open for quick camera mounting or locks closed so the lever is out of the way. The tilt head swivels and tilts as well as having a handy bubble level for accuracy in camera leveling.

Pan Head

You can also remove the center column and install it from the center of the three legs to have your camera in the center of the tripod legs. This allows for pictures from directly above a subject as well as a more sturdy position in difficult situations.

The tilt head has an easy screw handle to loosen the pan head as well as a screw lock for the 90 degree tilt to align your camera in the vertical or horizontal position. The center column tightening screw has a small plate that pushes out into the center column hole onto the plastic sleeve so there is no screw end damage to the center column. The legs lock easily with a quick flip lever that is a nice and simple way to lock and unlock the legs for a simple way to adjust the legs.
