The Alen HEPA Air Purifier model T100 is a great desktop air purifier that works very well for the office, home office or even the bedside table or nightstand. It has a small base with plenty of air circulation and it’s easy to install HEPA filter cartridge is not only simple to install but works very well.
Just how do you test an air purifier to see that it works as well as you need it to, you use it, I cannot think of a better way than to set the thing on my desk and see how much dust it collects in a month. The picture speaks for itself, the fiber filter on the outside of the HEPA cartridge has a thick layer of dust that has been collecting on my T100 desktop air purifier for the last month.
The T100 Air Purifier from Alen is a nice desktop model that is handy to take to the office, in your home office, a small apartment or even the bedside table. The air purifier is 14.5 inches tall, 6.2 inches wide and 10 inches from front to back with the controls on the top for ease of use.
The filter cartridge is a two piece design with a foam pre filter that is reusable and a cardboard and paper filter you replace every six months or sooner depending on your environment. I would say that I will have to be replacing them sooner but that is due to my location, I will be cleaning the foam pre filter out every month to get rid of the dust.
The Alen T100 works very well at getting dust out of the air as well as other contaminants such as pollen and dander that are common causes of allergy symptoms. Removing most of these types of causes is the best way for people who suffer from allergies and other breathing problems to find relief in their own home.
But what about at the office or work where they cannot get the same benefits from larger devices, the Alen T100 is perfect for this type of use. It is small and portable with a simple design that is not going to cause problems with style, not that this would be a prime factor but it does help.
The Alen T100 is a quiet fan operated filter system but also includes an Ion filter system as well to increase the filtering and removal of contaminants. An Ion filtering system uses electricity to statically charge particles and make them fall out of the air to reduce pollutants.
While the use of an Ion charger to remove pollutants has not been widely accepted by health care professionals the use combined with a filter system has been shown to have benefits. Using the Ion filter system as well as the HEPA filters increases the elimination of pollutants and dust in the air to help you breathe easier and reduce dust.
I can certainly vouch for the dust removal as you can see by my pictures; the T100 does a great job of filtering air and collecting dust. The T100 has three fan settings as well as the Ion on/off setting to allow you to control the amount of noise from the fan by the speed of the motor and having the use of the Ion filtering.
